(Kitco News) - Lucara Diamond (TSX: LUC) announced today it recovered a 2,492 carat diamond from its Karowe Diamond Mine in Botswana.
The Botswana miner said that the diamond could be one of the "largest rough diamonds ever unearthed."
Lucara traded up 40% to 46 cents a share.
William Lamb, President and CEO of Lucara, was excited about the find.
