(Kitco News) - Kelly Malcolm, vice president exploration at Amex Exploration, updated Kitco on the company’s Perron project.
In June Malcolm spoke to Kitco at the Mining Investment Event of the North in Quebec City.
Amex Exploration (TSX-V: AMX) is a junior gold mining company focused on its 100%-owned Perron gold project in Quebec, which is near a number of major operating gold mining companies and their milling operations. The project is about 110-km north of Rouyn-Noranda. The project is just 8 km from the town of Normétal, where a mine operated until 1975. During its operation, the Normétal mine produced 10 Mt at 2.25% copper, 5.4% zinc, 0.5 g/t Au and 44.5 g/t Ag.
In February Amex Exploration announced that it closed a C$49.6 million [C$50 million rounding up] bought deal private placement.

In a corporate update from May the company said 280,000 meters had been drilled since 2018. The company expects another 60-70,000 meters of drilling to be completed before the end of the year.
"We are drilling a hole lot of holes. [The] $50 million that was raised is all-flow-through, so all that money is earmarked directly for in ground exploration [and] has to be spent by the year end 2023. We've in for a very, very busy drilling season," said Malcolm.
