Anglo American announced today that Aaron Puna, Executive Chairman of Anglo American in Chile, will leave the company.
Puna will take on "new professional challenges outside of Anglo American." Puna had been with Anglo American for 14 years.
Ruben Fernandes, CEO of Base Metals at Anglo American, thanked Puna.
"We deeply thank Aaron for his dedication and leadership during these 14 years at Anglo American and in particular during these last 3 years at the helm of the copper operations in Chile; we wish you the best of luck in your new challenges. At the same time, I want to express my support for the team in Chile to continue transforming our way of mining towards a more sustainable mining in every way, socially and environmentally, in line with the needs and expectations of society. I am confident that Patricio will continue to lead this process while in his role as interim CEO."
