IGO Limited (ASX: IGO) said today that the company’s managing director and CEO, Peter Bradford, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 15.
IGO owns and operates the Nova nickel-copper-cobalt operation, the Forrestania Nickel operation and the Cosmos Nickel operation. IGO is also invested in a lithium focused joint venture with Tianqi Lithium Corporation, which comprises a 51% stake in the Greenbushes Lithium Mine and 100% interest in a downstream processing refinery at Kwinana producing battery grade lithium hydroxide.
"Peter was an inspirational leader, an innovative and strategic thinker and a compassionate mentor, who transformed IGO into the company that it is today - a globally recognised, ASX100 listed company focused on creating a better planet. His passion for mining and resources, and his personal drive to raise the bar across the industry, was unparalleled," wrote the company in a news release.
Before coming to IGO, Bradford worked at Ashanti Goldfields (and Golden Shamrock Mines), Golden Star Resources, Anvil Mining, Copperbelt Minerals and PMI Gold.
Matt Dusci was appointed as acting CEO. The company will begin the formal search process for a permanent CEO.
