Gold miner St Barbara reports ‘strong' June quarter production, achieves annual guidance

(Kitco News) - Gold miner St Barbara (ASX: SBM) yesterday reported strong June quarter FY23 production results with all three provinces achieving annual guidance.

The company said that its total gold production for the June quarter FY23 of 77.1 koz represents a 32% quarter-on-quarter increase (March quarter FY23: 58.6 koz), adding that its cash balance increased to A$294 million compared to March quarter FY23 (A$60 million).

Importantly, the company noted that the total group gold production of 260 koz achieved during its fiscal year ended June 30 2023 was within the company’s FY23 production guidance of 240,000 to 265,000 ounces.

St Barbara's assets include Leonora operations in Western Australia, Atlantic operations in Nova Scotia, Canada and Simberi operations in Papua New Guinea.
